No, you don’t need to download an app to rent a power bank. The app is only used to find all stations within the network.
Why am I charged €20 immediately after renting the power bank?
This is only a deposit. In case the power bank is not returned, this amount will be retained from your account. If you return the power bank after use, only the actual usage time will be charged, and you will receive the remaining balance of the €20 back.
